and David Root decided to open up D and D Bait and Tackle in 2000
after moving to Cape Coral, Florida. They have a true passion for
the water and the fishing in Southwest Florida which inspired them
to open a convenient bait and tackle shop located in the heart of
Matlacha, Florida just minutes from Cape Coral. D and D Bait and Tackle is a family owned bait
and tackle shop who also have a pro-guide staff with many years of
fishing experience to help you on your outdoor adventure. They have
a wide selection of live bait, frozen bait, artificial lures, hooks,
bait storage, cast nets, refreshments, fishing line, leader
material, weights and refreshments to get you ready for your trip.
They also have a boat ramp next to the shop with three acres of
trailer parking to make it convenient for large and small vessels.
D and D Bait and Tackle is open from 6AM to 9PM everyday to make it
convenient for the early angler or the night owl. So the next time
you are in Southwest Florida, or if you are a local, stop on in and
visit their friendly atmosphere and staff. They will do their best
to prepare you for the outdoors and try to make your trip on the
water the best! After visiting with D and D Bait and Tackle you will
want to make them your one and only bait and tackle shop to do
business with.
Also, every July, D and D Bait and Tackle hosts the David Lee Root
Jr. fishing tournament. All proceeds benefit the Lee Memorial Trauma
Center in David's memory.
